Get to know the story behind the brand of Mina D Jewelry
People often ask why?
Why did you become a jewelry designer? Why semi precious and pearl jewelry?
Firstly, I was the Finance Director for Olympic Diamond a multi million dollar entity, and after 20 years of working in the diamond industry, I saw the need for something different something fun that you couldn't find in any boutique or store, the industry was a lot different than today.
Being that I was still working for them, ethically I had to be conflict free and noncompetitive to what the Olympic Diamond Company was about. Loyalty and integrity is the base of what I live by.
2- because its fun, the type of jewelry you can create with various pearls and natural stones is something fun and wearable
3- you can wear it everyday, yes you should have the best you can afford of the classic diamond studs and perhaps a unique diamond bracelet for special occasions, but I wanted to design something you can wear out to dinner, lunch, work - something you can run errands in and still feel pulled together, something that compliments your wardrobe and enhances your beauty, as your favorite lipstick does.
Of course then I had to create those statement pieces that are reserved for those special occasions, the multi row necklace that make you say "wow" the pieces that make you feel like a goddess like royalty and that is where the couture collection came about. The look of $150,000 plus statement pieces for a fraction of the price, yet with a lot or "wow" factor.
And now at this stage of my career, things are pivoting once again and going back to my diamond roots was inevitable.
Coming soon I am working on a unique line of Fine Jewelry with ethically sourced Lab Diamonds.
