The Diamond Market is similar to the stock market and also fluctuates with it at times. Yes, up to 60% and that is being generous. In fact most of the time whatever you paid the resell will be significantly lower.

It will also vary if you are buying something else from your Jeweler, or just selling it and walking away. Chances are if you are trading up, you might get a bit more for your diamond.
