The History of Diamonds, as quoted from the GIA
Sparkling with an internal fire all its own, diamond is one of the world’s most sought-after and adored gemstones. Those born in April are lucky enough to call this scintillating gem their birthstone, a symbol of clarity and strength. Diamond is so strong, in fact, that its name comes from the Greek word "adamas," which means “invincible” or “unbreakable.” The timeless charm of diamond was cherished long before it became the April birthstone, and the places where diamond comes from are as fascinating as the lore that surrounds it.
DIAMOND BIRTHSTONE MEANING & HISTORY
Our love for the April birthstone started in India, where diamonds were gathered from the country’s rivers and streams. Traded as early as the fourth century BCE, diamonds were coveted by royalty and the wealthy. Later, caravans brought Indian diamonds, along with other exotic merchandise, to medieval markets in Venice. By the 1400s, diamonds were becoming fashionable accessories for Europe’s elite. The first diamond engagement ring on record was given by Archduke Maximillian of Austria to his betrothed, Mary of Burgundy, in 1477. Recent evidence supports the origin of the legendary 45.52 carat (ct) blue Hope diamond in India’s Golconda mining area and its sale to King Louis XIV of France (then known as the French Blue diamond) in 1668.

Mina D Fine Jewelry Lab Diamonds good for the environment
Mina D Fine Jewelry uses laboratory-grown diamonds sourced sustainably and ethically. The creation of a diamond in the lab is one of the most spectacular scientific breakthroughs. After more than 100 years of targeted research, technology is now at the point where innovative equipment can replicate natural processes that take thousands of years to create unparalleled beauty. Lab-grown diamonds have the same properties as mined diamonds, yet do not contribute to land degradation and deforestation, dust and water pollution and unsafe and exploitative mining practices.
When it comes to fine jewelry, diamonds have always been the epitome of luxury and beauty. But did you know that Mina D Fine Jewelry is revolutionizing the diamond industry with their laboratory-grown diamonds? These diamonds are not only sourced sustainably and ethically, but they are also created through a remarkable scientific process that mimics nature's own creation.
How are lab-grown diamonds created?
The creation of a diamond in the lab is one of the most spectacular scientific breakthroughs of our time. Through more than 100 years of targeted research, technology has advanced to the point where innovative equipment can replicate natural processes that take thousands of years to occur.
Lab-grown diamonds are created using a method called Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) or High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT). In the CVD process, a diamond seed is placed in a chamber filled with carbon-rich gases. These gases are then heated to extreme temperatures, causing the carbon atoms to bond and crystallize, forming a diamond. The HPHT process involves subjecting a diamond seed to high pressure and temperature, allowing carbon atoms to bond and grow into a larger diamond.

The Truth No One wants to hear Diamond Prices explained by Mina D
The truth nobody wants to hear …
Natural Diamonds 💎 will not resell for what you paid for them.
Wait… unless it’s a high color, high quality GIA certified significant diamond.
I’m not saying you won’t get value years down ….but diamond 💎 prices are constantly fluctuating and if you are looking for an investment, diamonds 💎 may not be the best option unless you are buying a high color, rare jewel.
Yes, you might get up to 60% of what you paid initially but it will vary on the market price, which is forever changing. The Diamond Market is similar to the stock market and also fluctuates with it at times. Yes, up to 60% and that is being generous. In fact most of the time whatever you paid the resell will be significantly lower.
It will also vary if you are buying something else from your Jeweler, or just selling it and walking away. Chances are if you are trading up, you might get a bit more for your diamond.
